If you are pregnant or know someone who is, you should
know the following:
What Newborn
Screening is:
http://mchb.hrsa.gov/screening
Newborn Screening is dedicated to improving the lives of
children and their families by offering early detection of metabolic and
other inherited disorders. Every state in the U.S. currently manages a
program to screen newborns for inherited disorders. However,
many states include only a handful of disorders in its program,
leaving thousands of newborns unscreened for any number of potentially
manageable disorders every year.
