10/05/04 - JIM AND JILL KELLY ANNOUNCE THE 5th ANNUAL HUNTER’S HOPE CANDLELIGHT BALL
Bob & Mindy Rich, of Rich Products Corporation, to serve as Honorary Chairs
Buffalo, NY - Former Buffalo Bill and Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Jim Kelly and his wife, Jill, announced the date of their 5th Annual Candlelight Ball, which helps support their Foundation, Hunter’s Hope. The event will take place on November 26th - the day after Thanksgiving. At a press conference held today at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, the site of the gala, the Kelly’s brought along longtime pals, Bob and Mindy Rich of Rich Products Corporation. The Rich’s will be serving as Honorary Chairs to this year’s Candlelight Ball.
“My wife and I are so grateful to Bob and Mindy for opening their hearts to our Foundation and taking time out of their busy schedule to help us out. Every year, this event just gets bigger and better. Everyone has so much fun, but most importantly, every person who participates is helping to make a difference in children’s lives,” said Jim Kelly, President of Hunter’s Hope.
The black-tie event will also feature an extravaganza of delicious food and wine from over 30 of the finest restaurants and wineries in Western New York, as well as silent, live, and Chinese Auctions featuring such spectacular items as trips and an autographed Tim McGraw guitar! Saxophonist Allan Baun and American Idol finalist, John Stevens, will provide the evening’s entertainment.

The Hunter’s Hope Foundation was established in 1997 by Pro Football Hall of Fame member and former Buffalo Bills Quarterback, Jim Kelly, and his wife, Jill, after their infant son, Hunter, was diagnosed with Krabbe Leukodystrophy, an inherited, fatal, nervous system disease. The Foundation is the Kelly’s life long commitment to increase public awareness of leukodystrophies as well as to increase the likelihood of early detection and treatment. Their ultimate goal is to raise money to fund research efforts to identify new treatments, therapies, and a cure for Krabbe and other leukodystrophies. To date the Foundation has awarded over $3.8 million to leukodystrophy and other neurological disease related research.
