04/02/04 - HUNTER’S HOPE JOINS THE MASSES AT THE BROADWAY MARKET
Jim Kelly's Foundation to have a table at the event, April 3rd - April 10th
Broadway Market, Buffalo, NY - It’s been a WNY Easter tradition for over 115 years and now the Hunter’s Hope Foundation is an official part of it. Since 1888 the Broadway Market, located on Broadway and Gibson Streets, has been known for its unique products and personal service. The more than 40 vendors that usually occupy the market space will double for the annual weeklong Easter event, while over 20,000 people peruse all the delectable food from Cross Bread to Kielbasa.
One of those vendors just happens to be the Hunter’s Hope Foundation, founded by former Buffalo Bill, Jim Kelly. While setting up shop at the Broadway Market on the 1st floor next to the escalator for the duration of the Market’s Easter hours, Hunter’s Hope will be raffling off a Jim Kelly autographed Hall of Fame football. The Foundation’s collectible Boyds Bears will also be available for a $20 donation.
For more information, please contact the Foundation at 667-1200 or the Broadway Market at 893-0705
The Hunter’s Hope Foundation was established in 1997 by Pro Football Hall of Fame member and former Buffalo Bills Quarterback, Jim Kelly, and his wife, Jill, after their infant son, Hunter was diagnosed with Krabbe Leukodystrophy, an inherited, fatal, nervous system disease. The Foundation is the Kelly’s life long commitment to increase public awareness of leukodystrophies as well as to increase the likelihood of early detection and treatment. Their ultimate goal is to raise money to fund research efforts to identify new treatments, therapies, and a cure for Krabbe and other leukodystrophies. To date the Foundation has awarded approximately $3.7 million to leukodystrophy and other neurological disease related research.
