But I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I
cry out in distress, and He hears my voice. Psalm 55:16-17
It’s inescapable. Life is full of disappointment and heartbreak. Who
can journey through this life without coming face to face with trials
and tumultuous times? Tragedy immobilizes and weakens. It catches us
completely off guard and threatens to suck the joy of life right out of
us?
What do you do when your family’s world is turned upside down? What
do you do when you don’t know what to do? How do you face another day,
another minute, and press on when all hope is gone?
After my only son was diagnosed with a fatal genetic disease at four
months old, the unimaginable did happen to our family. When we
were told that our baby boy would not live to see his second birthday,
our world was shattered. We were devastated.
But, through the grace of a compassionate and merciful God, we found
hope.
Prayers of Hope for the Brokenhearted is a book of prayers
from my broken heart.
Prayers of Hope for the Brokenhearted is filled with journal
entries kept during very difficult days. When verbal expression of my
unspoken emotions seemed impossible, I grabbed the nearest journal and
penned my deepest fears and needs.
At first I didn’t know how to pray or what to pray. I was desperate
and broken inside. I needed relief. I longed for someone to listen.
Prayers of Hope for the Brokenhearted is heartfelt and
honest.
My greatest desire is that people will be drawn to this little book
of prayers because they too are broken as I was and in need of someone
to listen. Sometimes our deepest hurts are the most difficult to
express. But these prayers will ignite a desire in the hearts of all
who read them to honestly seek God.
Prayer is a simple yet real way to connect to God. And prayer is the
only way that this kind of pain can be shared…then lifted.
Prayers of Hope for the Brokenhearted is an opportunity to
spend time with the God who sees and hears…and loves you more than you
can fathom.
