Supplemental Newborn Screening

If you or someone you know is pregnant, please talk to your doctor and/or hospital to help raise awareness of the importance of Universal Newborn Screening before a child is born. Almost every state does not test for the 54 recommended potentially fatal, but treatable, diseases in newborns. Hunter's Hope is committed to changing that. In the meantime, to ensure your newborn is not at risk, we are providing information for the following companies which offer supplemental newborn screening kits. By listing these companies, Hunter's Hope does not imply endorsement of any particular company.

PerkinElmer Genetics, Inc.
PerkinElmer Genetics offers a Supplemental Newborn Screening Packet called StepOne on their website for $199. This screening packet is the most comprehensive program available and currently screens for all 54 diseases recommended by the American College of Medical Genetics. Hunter’s Hope has arranged for you to be able to order the PerkinElmer StepOne Packet for $50 if you order it through Hunter’s Hope.
